Notre Dame Cruises Past NC State Amid Weather Delays
Notre Dame improved to 3-0 on the season with a 45-24 victory over NC State in a game marred by multiple weather delays. The Fighting Irish, led by quarterback Sam Hartman, remained composed despite interruptions and powered through with 286 passing yards and four touchdowns.
Notre Dame’s defense was equally effective, forcing NC State quarterback Brennan Armstrong into two interceptions and limiting the Wolfpack to just 2.8 yards per carry on the ground. The game, which saw two lengthy lightning delays, tested the resilience of both teams, but Notre Dame handled the disruptions better, finishing the game strong with a 21-point fourth quarter.
Head coach Marcus Freeman expressed pride in his team’s ability to stay focused through the delays and lauded Hartman’s leadership on offense. Notre Dame now looks ahead to a critical showdown with Ohio State, which could have major playoff implications.
